Cartoon Network to launch EMEA digital service

Cartoon Network EMEA is due to launch a mobile-focused digital service across the Europe, Middle East and Afirca region from the end of October.

Cartoon Network Anything will be available as a free app for iOS and Android and will offer “fun and funny bite-sized content” for mobiles and tablets, the firm said.

“Cartoon Network Anything is an innovative way to reinterpret what it means to be a ‘network’ on various platforms,” said Patricia Hidalgo, senior vice-president and chief content officer, kids, Turner Broadcasting System EMEA.

“The small screen was the focus from the beginning, both with regards to the content itself and its delivery method – and the result is an experience that feels entirely natural to the medium, to fans of our channel and Cartoon Network as a whole.”

Cartoon Network Anything will offer games, activities, trivia and clips, each lasting an average of 10 to 15 seconds. Users can skip to the next page by swiping their screens with updated content delivered at random.

A US version of the service launched in the US a year ago.
