Starz Play Arabia selected thePlatform to provide the back-end video management and publishing system for the Middle East and North African SVoD service.

The Comcast subsidiary disclosed the deal today and said the agreement was struck with Swedish media group, Parsifal Entertainment Group, which partnered with Starz to launch Starz Play Arabia.

The subscription service, which launched in 17 territories throughout the MENA region in April, uses thePlatform’s cloud-based mpx video publishing system to support viewers across a variety of IP-connected devices.
