Liberty Global operators add HD services to Horizon Go
Liberty Global-owned cable operator UPC Austria has expended the number of channels available for out-of-home viewing, including the launch of a number of HD services.
UPC is now offering 81 channels for out-of-home access to customers with a UPC Mobile subscription, including 21 HD services.
Customers with the advanced Horizon Go mobile TV service, available free of charge to FIT multi-play subscribers, will have access to 100 channels.
Sister operator UPC Czech Republic is meanwhile is also launching an HD offering as part of its Horizon Go offering. The operator is replacing the SD versions of three channels and is launching eight additional channels in HD, bringing the total to 11 HD services.
HD channels on the service include CT1 HD, Nova HD, CT Sport HD, HBO HD, Filmbox HD, Nova Sport 2 HD, Eurosport HD, Sport 1 and Sport 2 HD, Animal Planet HD and National Geographic HD.
Separately, Liberty Global-owned UPC Poland has added the HD version of Sony Pictures Television Networks channels AXN and AXN Spin to its TV offering.
AXN HD will be available as part of the operator’s Select and Max packages, while AXN Spin HD will be available in the Max package.
AXN offers a mix of US and European series and movies and will air the complete Star Wars movies cycle in October and November.
AXN Spin is focused on a younger audience profile and includes content such as Teen Wolf, Merlin, Family Guy and Gossip Girl.
