Cyfrowy Polsat sees revenue grow as internet subs rise
Polish pay TV operator Cyfrowy Polsat saw its revenue grow by 6% on a like for like basis in the first half of the year to PLN838 million (€197 million), thanks to the sale of telecoms products and services.
Including Metelem Group – the holding company of mobile operator Plus’s owner Polkomtel – which was fully consolidated in the group’s second quarter results for the first time, revenues amounted to PLN2.469 billion.
Cyfrowy Polsat had 4.375 million post-paid pay TV customers at the end of June, up 2.8% year on year. Multiroom customers grew by 14.9% to 886,305.
While the number of post-paid mobile customers fell by 1.9% to 6.519 million, the number of internet customers rose dramatically by 32.1% year on year to 1.483 million.
Overall, Cyfrowy Polsat had 5.99 million post-paid customers at the end of the period, down 3.7%. ARPU rose by 2% to PLN87 and RGUs per customer rose from 1.93 to 2.07.
In addition to its 12.377 million post-paid RGUs, Cyfrowy Polsat had 3.972 million pre-paid RGUs, down 6% including 3.737 million mobile customers, down 4.8%.
EBITDA excluding Metelem Group rose by 9.7% to PLN306 million. Overall EBITDA stood at PLN977 million.
