Numericable-SFR sees improvement in second quarter
French operator Numericable-SFR and parent company Altice both posted solid second-quarter financials, although the group has continued to lose mobile and fixed subscribers.
Numericable-SFR revenues for the second quarter were €2.781 billion, down 2.4% year-on-year but 1.3% up on the first quarter. Adjusted EBITDA was up 19% to €1.056 billion thanks to the programme of synergies introduced by the group following Numericable’s acquisition of SFR.
Numericable-SFR now has 6.401 million fixed customers, down from 6.624 million a year earlier, of which Numericable’s high-speed customers number 1.665 million, up from 1.510 million. ARPU for high-speed customers was down slightly year-on-year at €41.40, while fixed line ARPU overall was up slightly at €35.30.
Altice posted revenues of €3.906 billion, down 2%, including €2.775 million in France, down 2.5%. EBITDA was €1.549 billion, up 13%.
Internationally, Altice’s Portuguese subsidiary Portugal Telecom saw its rate of declining revenues slow to 0.5% quarter-on-quarter. Revenues were down 7.1% year-on-year.
