A+E Networks appoints international operations head
A+E Networks has appointed Discovery executive Edward Sabin as head of commercial operations, international, and managing director, Americas.
Sabin will lead business operations for A+E Networks’ international channels, manage the company’s growth activities in Latin America and Canada and will play a strategic role in new business globally.
Reporting to Sean Cohan, executive vice president, international, Sabin will be based in Los Angeles and will be responsible for leading a range of global strategic and operational initiatives and teams. He will also oversee all key relationships, partnerships, channels, and digital media activities in in Latin America and Canada.
“Our international division has been on a tear, with a portfolio and business that has tripled in size. Both wholly-owned businesses and our partnerships with leading players have grown dramatically. In his role, Edward joins a strong team and partners that are bullish on the continued growth of some of the best content and brands across all regions and platforms,” said Cohan.
Sabin said: “The ever-evolving global landscape presents significant opportunities, including the impetus for media companies to boost their engagement with international audiences across all platforms.”
Prior to joining A+E Networks, Sabin was group chief operating officer for Discovery and TLC Networks, as well Science Channel and Velocity. Before that he was at Fox Television Studios for seven years, latterly serving as senior vice president, business development and operations.
