Switzerland-based iWedia will demo its Teatro-3.0 software solution for connected receivers and its Teatro-3.5 software solution for Android TV set-top boxes at ANGA COM.

The Teatro-3.0 software solution is based on Linux and is integrated with the Conax Contego content protection platform and is “ideally suited at emerging markets that migrate to digital TV,” according to iWedia VP of business development, Giora Golan.

Teatro 3.5 is an iWedia ‘Android4TV’ solution and was developed using iWedia’s 3D enabled UI/UX development framework, C-More. It comes pre-integrated with a number of ecosystems, including the Nagra MediaLive service delivery platform.

“iWedia has been pioneering the use of Android for set-top box in supplying innovative software solutions. Now that this concept has gained tremendous momentum, we are ready to surf on the trend and to supply operators and manufacturers with field proven software solutions and world class professional engineering services,” said iWedia CEO Hans-Jürgen Désor.

iWedia will showcase its Bbox Miami, Android TV STB, that French telco Bouygues Telecom deployed in January 2015, which is being migrated to Android Lollipop. The box uses iWedia Android4TV to give a unified user interface for live and on-demand TV content.

Discussing Teatro-3.0, iWedia’s Golan said: “It is a compact solution that runs on resources-limited devices without compromising on features, especially with respect to connectivity.”

Teatro-3.0 is built in HTML/CSS and uses JavaScript APIs, giving access to digital TV features. The solution features DLNA (player and renderer), ‘walled garden’ web services (CE-HTML portals, HbbTV applications), and personal video recorder / time-shift buffer (PVR/TSB), according to iWedia.

iWedia will exhibit at ANGA COM in hall 10.2, stand A30.
