Elemental partners with Orange TV Group in Indonesia

Video technology provider, Elemental, is working with the Orange TV Group in Indonesia to expand the availability of its Genflix OTT service on a number of smart devices. 

Under the agreement, the video service will use Elemental Live and Elemental Server to provide a “smooth and uninterrupted viewing experience” for watching Genflix’s six linear channels and premium video-on-demand offerings.

Genflix can be accessed using mobile apps for Google Android and Apple iOS-based phones, with Elemental claiming that content can now be repurposed more efficiently for both linear and video-on-demand streams for all viewing platforms.

Multiscreen, revenue assurance and media protection firm Irdeto will also help to manage delivery of content.  Irdeto Multiscreen will control tge Elemental Server and all VoD processing.

“OTT does not have a single standardised delivery technology, digital rights management, or standardised consumption devices compared with direct-to-home broadcast services. Genflix needs flexibility to serve this complex market,” said Bobby Sidharta, chief technology officer of Orange TV.

“Elemental has the right technology to meet these needs while taking our future growth plans into account. It has also proven easy to integrate and easy to operate.”

Pay TV operator Orange TV Group launched in Indonesia in February 2012 and is operated PT Mega Media. The firm rolled out Genflix in September 2013.

Portland Oregan-based Elemental Technologies a supplier of software-defined video solutions for multiscreen content delivery. The company has offices in the US, UK, France, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, China, Russia, India and Brazil and claims to powering video experiences for more than 600 media franchises around the world.
