Amazon adds 600 channels to Fire TV in three months

Amazon has added over 600 channels, apps and games to the US Amazon Fire TV platform in the last three months, in what it claims is the “fastest growing selection of any streaming media device”.

The firm lists Popcornflix, Funny Or Die, Candy Crush Saga, and Fox News among its popular new titles. It also said that GameFly is now available exclusively for streaming media devices on Amazon Fire TV, letting customers play PC games titles, including action role-playing title Darksiders II, and racing game Dirt 3.

“The team is working hard and moving incredibly fast to bring even more movies, TV shows, live TV, sports, music, channels, apps and games to the Amazon Fire TV platform every week – and it shows. Amazon Fire TV selection has grown 127% in just the last 6 months, and is continuing to accelerate,” said Steve Rabuchin, vice president of the Amazon Appstore.
