Sky Deutschland to air cup final in UHD

Pay TV operator Sky Deutschland is to broadcast the DFB Cup Final football match in Ultra HD in a number of selected sports bars.

The football match, which takes place on May 30, will be shown in Ultra HD in about 15 sports bars and hotel bars across Germany.

Sky is equipping the venues with Samsung 65-inch an 78-inch TVs with build-in UHD tuners. Sky is also providing supporting marketing material.

Paul Sexton-Chadwick, VP of business solutions, said that the transmission was a first for the German market that would offer a unique experience to viewers.
