Roku adds Sharp to smart TV partners line-up

Insignia’s Roku TV as demonstrated at this year’s CES

Smart TV device manufacturer Roku has added TV manufacturer Sharp to its roster of partners, and Sharp will integrate Roku software in its next generation of smart TVs in the US market. 

Sharp Roku TVs will use the Roku TV reference design and feature the Roku operating system. The devices will feature 1080p Full HD video and 60hz native refresh rate. Devices will be available exclusively at Best Buy stores and at Best Buy’s online site. The company’s 43-inch LED model will be available for US$379.99 and a 50-inch variant will be available for US$499.99.

Roku has also announced that Insignia Roku TV models would be available in the US and Canada this month. The Insignia 32-inch and 55-inch models are included in the Netflix recommended TV programme.
