KPN test new OTT service ahead of planned launch

Dutch telco KPN is trialling a new OTT TV service, Play by KPN, ahead of a planned launch of the service later this year.

KPN has yet to reveal detailed information about the service, which is described as a single app that allows users to view content in a personalised way as either live TV on video-on-demand.

The service will offer access to the most popular TV channels and a wide range of on demand content. It is available as one app for iOS and Android, or via Google Chromecast on a smart TV.

The group plans to expand the closed user group to develop a definitive version of the service.

“Play by KPN gives you the freedom to watch content when you want, wherever you are. It doesn’t even matter which internet provider you have,” says Diederik Rosenbaum, TV & Propositions Manager at KPN.
