Telekom Austria sees TV growth
Telekom Austria saw 6.6% year-on-year growth in its domestic IPTV base for the quarter, which it said helped arrest its decline in fixed line revenues. Overall fixed line revenues fell by 3.6% as TV revenues were offset by lower voice revenues. The operator had 255,700 TV customers at the end of the quarter in Austria.
In Bulgaria, Telekom Austria-owned Mobiltel saw growth from its satellite TV business in the first quarter, with a 25.8% uplift in its overall TV base being driven by the DTH service. The rise in TV subscribers contributed to a 10.4% year-on-year increase in Mobiltel’s fixed access line count. Overall, Mobiltel had 97,300 TV customers at the end of the quarter.
In Croatia Vipnet turned in a 7.4% year-on-year rise in TV subscribers alongside a 25.5% uplift in broadband customers. Vipnet had 171,500 TV customers at the end of March.
