HBO Now streaming service goes live in the US
HBO’s standalone streaming service, HBO Now, has launched in the US via Apple devices and Cablevision’s Optimum Online service.
The OTT subscription service, which HBO unveiled last month, is available for US$14.99 per-month, with the first 30 days free for those who sign up this month.
“Just in time for the premiere of the fifth season of Game of Thrones on Sunday, April 12, HBO Now subscribers will have access to every episode of every season of the best series programming, more of the biggest and latest Hollywood hit movies, original HBO Films, groundbreaking documentaries, sports, and comedy and music specials,” said HBO.
HBO Now will offer more than 2,000 titles online including True Detective, Silicon Valley, Girls, and popular older shows like The Sopranos, Sex and the City, and The Wire.
Apple customers can subscribe to HBO Now by downloading the app on their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch or directly on Apple TV using their iTunes account. Optimum Online customers can purchase an HBO Now subscription by ordering the service online.
