MTS sees revenues rise, fixed subscribers fall
Russian multi-play service provider MTS has reported a 3.1% rise in revenue for 2014 to RUB410.8 billion (€165 million), with operating income before depreciation and amortisation rising 0.3% to RUB175.5 billion.
Consolidated net income fell by 35.1% to RUB51.8 billion against a background of foreign exchange losses and other factors.
The company had 7.062 million fixed-line subscribers at the end of the year, compared with 7.69 million in 2013. However ARPU was up 6.9% year-on-year to RUB343, thanks to success in marketing double and triple-play services and success in migrating TV customers to its digital platform.
MTS said that its revenue may grow by about 2% this year, driven by the domestic Russian market, with an OIBDA margin in excess of 40%.
