UPC DTH adds Scripps Networks channels
Liberty Global-owned central and eastern European satellite TV provider UPC DTH is adding Scripps Networks International’s Fine Living and Food Network channels to its line-up.
Food Network will be available on channel 92 to Plus Pak customers for UPC Direct/freeSAT customers in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary and Mozaic customers for Focus Sat in Romania. Fine Living will be available on channel 91 to Plus Pak customers for UPC Direct/freeSAT and Familia customers for Focus Sat.
In order to make room for these channels UPC DTH will be removing Blackbelt TV and Sportklub from the line-up.
Food Network will premiere new South African show Siba’s Table: Fast Feasts featuring Food Network chef Siba Mtongana, in March, while Fine Living will include in its line-up shows such as Killer Kitchen Makeover and Keasha’s Perfect Dress.
“We are pleased to bring lifestyle inspiration to our customers with the addition of Food Network and Fine Living. We regularly survey our customers to be sure we are meeting their expectations in programme content and assortment. This addition will strengthen our Plus Pak in our Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia as well as the Familia and Mozaic packages for Focus Sat customers in Romania. These additions will further enhance our already rich package options for customers providing more choice” said Zoltan Pinkola, regional director of sales and business development for UPC DTH.
Jon Sichel, managing director, Scripps Networks UK and EMEA said: “We have a long standing relationship with UPC and are pleased to develop our partnership with one of the most recognised and respected platform providers in Europe. We will be bringing our high-quality food entertainment and lifestyle channels to a bigger audience than ever before.”
