Apple makes €1.7 billion European investment pledge
Apple is set to invest €1.7 billion to build and operate two European data centres that will power online services for it European customers including the iTunes Store and the App Store.
The two data centres will each measure 166,000 square metres, are expected to begin operations in 2017 and will be located in County Galway, Ireland, and Denmark’s central Jutland.
“We are grateful for Apple’s continued success in Europe and proud that our investment supports communities across the continent. This significant new investment represents Apple’s biggest project in Europe to date,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook.
