UPC Czech Republic adds Asian channels

Liberty Global-owned UPC Czech Republic has added a string of Asian channels to its line-up, primarily aimed at the country’s Vietnamese and Chinese communities.

UPC is adding two Vietnamese, three Chinese and one South Korean channel, along with a new Czech cooking and lifestyle channel called Mňam TV (Yummy TV).

The two Vietnamese channels are VTC10 and VTV4 and will both cover topics including Vietnamese culture, entertainment and cuisine.

The three Chinese channels are: CCTV-4, a Chinese-language channel featuring documentaries, series, sport, music and children’s programmes; CCTV-9, an English-language channel airing documentaries about Chinese heritage and nature; and CCTV News, an English-language Chinese news channel.

These five channels will be available to digital cable TV customers as part of an Asian package from February 17, priced at CZK99 (€3.58) per month.

CCTV News will also be available to subscribers of UPC’s Classic and Comfort tariffs, as will Mňam TV and the new Korean channel KBS World HD – an entertainment and documentary channel.
