Swisscom sees strong TV 2.0 growth
Swisscom’s advanced TV offering, Swisscom TV 2.0, now has 306,000 subscribers out of a total TV base of 1.17 million, according to the Swiss telco’s 2014 full-year report.
The operator said most of the TV 2.0 users had upgraded from Swisscom’s legacy TV service, Overall, Swisscom saw TV subscribers rise by 165,000,or 16.5%, in the course of the year. Swisscom said that one Swiss household in three now watched its service.
Swisscom’s fixed broadband base grew by 79,000 in the course of the year to reach 1.89 million. Over 1.2 million customers had bundled contracts at the end of the year, up 20.8%, with the main drivers being TV and mobile services, according to the operator.
Revenue from bundled contracts amounted to CHF1.553 billion (€1.466 billion), up 23.7%. Net revenue for Swisscom overall was up 2.4% to CHF11.434 billion.
