TeliaSonera sees TV growth across markets
Nordic telco TeliaSonera grew its TV base across most of its markets during the final quarter of 2014.
TeliaSonera had 697,000 TV customers in its major market, Sweden, at the end of last year, up 8.7% on the figure for December 2013. TeliaSonera added 16,000 TV customers in the final quarter of the year, along with 15,000 broadband customers, taking its broadband total to 1.275 million, up 5.5% year-on-year.
Overall, the telco saw fixed revenues fall by 3% as increased broadband and TV revenues could not fully compensate for the decline in telephony revenues.
In Finland TeliaSonera had 481,000 TV customers, up 10.3% year-on-year, but growing by only 4,000 over the last quarter.
TV homes in Denmark numbered 20,000, up by 12.7%. Estonian subsidiary Elion had 166,000 TV customers, up a modest 1.8% year-on-year. In Lithuania, subsidiary Teo numbered 187,000 TV customers, up 8.7%, with 7,000 homes added over the quarter (see separate story).
