YFE and Motors TV team up with Alterna’TV for Americas

Eutelsat-owned channel distributor Alterna’TV is to distribute German kids channel provider Your Family Entertainment’s (YFE) a channel and related content based on the Fix&Foxi kids animation series to its partners in 25 countries in the Americas.

Fix&Foxi were created by German comic artist and publisher Rolf Kauka, and the channel will feature other Kauka characters. YFE launched a Fix & Foxi channel in the German market at the end of last year, following its earlier acquisition of rights to the popular comic books of the same name.

Alterna’TV will distribute a Fix&Foxi animation and live entertainment channel together with video-on-demand and an app for iPads and other mobile devices.

The programming feeds, available through the Alterna’TV satellite platform, will offer both English and Spanish-language programming feeds.

YFE’s EVP of international channels, Paul Robinson, will work with Alterna’TV to create and roll out the Fix&Foxi channel.

Separately, Alterna’TV is also to distribute motorsports channel Motors TV in the Latin America, while channel .

programmer and distributor Thema will distribute it in the US.

Thema will create two new programming feeds – a Spanish-language version for Latin America and an English language version for the US – to be broadcast via the Eutelsat 113 satellite.

The channel will be introduced to Latin America through Alterna’TV while Thema will represent it to platforms in the US.

Launch week will feature live action from motorcycle beach race the Enduropale du Touquet, while the season-long schedule includes live Formula 1 Association World Endurance Championship and Avon Tyres British GT Championship coverage, as well as same-day FIA World Rally Championship highlights.
