WWE Network goes live in UK, gets Roku release
Wrestling entertainment company the WWE has launched its direct-to-consumer channel, WWE Network, in the UK and Ireland, with the channel to be available on Roku devices from today.
In a post on the WWE website yesterday, the wrestling organisation said WWE Network is available direct via the web, iOS and Android devices, games consoles, smart TVs and digital media players.
Separately, Roku announced the channel would be available on all current-generation Roku devices in the UK and Ireland from later today.
WWE Network is available for £9.99 (€13) in the UK and €12.99 in Ireland with no long-term contract commitments. The launch comes ahead of the Royal Rumble wrestling event, which is due to take place on January 25.
The WWE initially planned to launch the channel in the UK in October, but this did not come to fruition, and the channel was indefinitely delayed just 20 minutes before another scheduled launch a month later.
