Estonian regulator opens competition for TV licences
Estonian regulator the Technical Surveillance Authority has announced a public competition for two new licences to provide free-to-air TV services.
The winning bidders will receive licences valid for 10 years, double the period offered under previous licences. The deadline for submissions is February 10.
Bidders must commit to deliver talk programmes in Estonian and a daily schedule of at least 15 hours, including cultural, social, sports, youth and children’s programmes. A minimum of two hours of programming funded by the state or made by students of audiovisual studies at Estonian universities in the past five years must be shown every month.
