Vevo launches on Xbox One

Music programmer Vevo is launching more than 100,000 music videos, original series and live concerts on the Xbox One console.

An app, Vevo on Xbox One, has joined the console’s line-up. The app will be the first away from Vevo’s mobile and tablet apps and Vevo.com to offer the Vevo news feed.

Xbox owners in the US, Canada and Germany can also access Vevo TV, a 24/7 linear channel.

Vevo has been on Xbox 360, One’s predecessor, since 2012.

The news came as Vevo revealed its app views were up 136% year-on-year in November – totalling 4.3 billion overall monthly views.

The company has made a major push into original content recently, but last month lost founding CEO Rio Caraeff, who is exiting after five years.
