ATVOD names new board member
UK video-on-demand regulator ATVOD has named James Tatam, digital media director for Channel 5, to its board.
Tatam will take up his new role on January 1. He will replace Daniel Austin of Sky, who stood down from the ATVOD Board in September after four and a half years.
Tatam currently has overall product, editorial, operational and commercial responsibility for Channel 5’s digital series across web and connected devices, including in relation to
on-demand programming.
ATVOD will shortly be recruiting for a further non-independent director to replace Gidon Freeman of NBC Universal who will leave the board at the end of the year having served since early 2012.
“We are delighted that James has agreed to join the Board. He offers a wealth of experience in the video on demand sector and will help to ensure that ATVOD fully understands the issues which impact on our work. His experience of working on strategic issues will also help us to ensure that users of on demand services continue to enjoy the regulatory protection provided for in law,” said ATVOD chairman Ruth Evans.
