France 24 broadcasts live on YouTube
French international news network France 24 has launched 24-hour live feeds of its channel in three languages on video-sharing site YouTube.
France 24 is now broadcasting in English, French and Arabic on YouTube, with viewers able to watch in high definition from PC, mobiles or tablets.
Along with its rolling coverage, the channel will also allow viewers to replay selected content on YouTube once the broadcast is over – for example live speeches at the UN General Assembly.
France Medias Monde Group, the parent company of France 24, said that broadcasting on YouTube is part of its strategy for a “multi-platform, multilingual syndication of its channels”.
France 24 has been on YouTube since its launch in 2006, airing reports, debates and magazine show replays, and has already notched up over 300 million video views. It currently claims a YouTube audience of around 6 million views per month.
