African Movie Channel Series launches on Zuku
Nigerian broadcaster African Movie Channel has launched a new channel focusing on series on the Wananchi Programming-owned Zuku pay TV platform.
African Movie Channel Series (AMC Series) is a family-focused premium entertainment channel that will show TV soaps, comedies and drama from Nigeria, along with a selection of content from the rest of Africa, 24 hours a day.
“AMC has long solidified itself as a major player in broadcasting Nollywood and African films across Africa. AMC Series marks a new era of unique tailored programming in Africa. AMC Series together with AMC, provide the full package of unrivalled top-tier Nollywood and African TV programming,” said African Movie Channel co-founder and director Lola Onigbogi.
“This is a second first for us– we were the first TV platform to carry African Movie Channel in Africa back in 2012. AMC are a trailblazer, leading the way in a sphere that has been predominantly cultivated by international rather than domestic productions. We are excited to be furthering our partnership with AMC that translates to fresh, innovative and affordable entertainment with the launch of AMC Series on Zuku,” said Paul Healy, chief product and marketing officer for Zuku.
