BBC Worldwide launches pre-school app
BBC Wordwide has teamed up with Scary Beasties to launch an app targeted at pre-school children featuring Cbeebies characters Sarah & Duck.
The app enables kids to play games and engage in a range of activities related to the programme.
Available to download from the App Store, Google Play and Amazon for £2.99, €4.99 or US$4.99, pre-schoolers and fans of the series can join Sarah & Duck for a day at the park, interacting with their favourite characters across six animated games for children aged from two to six.
At the end of every game, players are rewarded with animated objects and characters that can be collected and used in a dynamic scene creator where they can build their own park.
“It took us nearly a year and an extensive global search to find the right development partner capable of creating a world-class app for Sarah & Duck. We finally found Scary Beasties, a London based company who specialises in Children’s software, and we knew they would be the perfect partner for BBC Worldwide and Karrot Entertainment,” said Peter Hickman, BBC Worldwide digital entertainment children’s producer.
