Viacom launches new French channel
Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) is launching a new channel for the French market targeted at older girls and young teenagers.
The Nickelodeon 4Teen channel, modeled on the existing US Teenick channel, will be aimed at seven to 14 year-old girls and will be available via the Canalsat pay TV platform and the Numericable cable network.
Content on the channel will include Sam & Cat, Every Witch Way, Victorious and iCarly.
The addition of Nickelodeon 4Teen means that VIMN France will now offer a total of 18 channels.
“We are delighted to partner with Canalsat and Numericable to strengthen our kids and family portfolio in France. The addition of Nickelodeon 4Teen is a perfect complement as it solidifies our position in the market with Nickelodeon Jr. and My Nickelodeon Jr. focused on preschoolers, and Nickelodeon and now Nickelodeon 4Teen both aimed at kids aged 7-14,” said Raffaele Annecchino, executive vice-president and managing director, VIMN South Europe, Africa and Middle East.
