M7 ups SES capacity to boost Czech and Slovakian HD output
Luxembourg-based satellite TV provider M7 Group has extended its existing capacity contract with SES to expand the HD channel offering in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
M7 has taken additional capacity on Astra’s 23.5° East position and will use this to up the HD output of its Skylink DTH platform, which reaches more than two million Czech and Slovakian DTH homes.
“With the Czech and Slovak market now rapidly moving to HD viewing, it is critical to meet the growing consumer demand for HD content and thereby maintain our market-leading position. This new capacity agreement with SES will enable us to do so,” said Jaromír Glisník, member of the board of M7 Group.
Norbert Hoelzle, senior vice-president of Europe, commercial at SES added: “We are pleased to be able to support M7’s plans to grow its audiences, and remain committed to help them do so on a pan-European level.”
