Euronews teams up with Parrot for in-car distribution

News channel Euronews has teamed up with automotive entertainment systems specialist Parrot to provide an app on the latter’s new Asteroid range of connected multimedia systems.

The app, which will be available by the end of this year, according to Euronews, will deliver news updates in real time to cars equipped with a Parrot Asteroid Smart system or Asteroid Tablet.

Users can select their preferred language out of the 13 options offered by Euronews and they can opt to have use the system’s text-to-speech technology to have reports read to them while they drive. When the car is stationary, drivers can consult news reports directly on the screen.

The systems developed by Parrot are equipped with an offline mode to enable any information previously uploaded to remain accessible when there is no network coverage.
