Kabel Deutschland names new CTO as Glatz departs
Vodafone-owned German cable operator Kabel Deutschland has named Frank Hellemink as its new chief technology officer, replacing Lorenz Glatz, according to local press.
According to German trade publication Digital Insider, which first reported that Glatz was to leave the company, Kabel Deutschland confirmed Hellemink’s appointment late yesterday afternoon, stating that Glatz had decided to leave at his own request.
Glatz will reportedly continue to work for the cable operator in a consultancy role. He joined Kabel Deutschland in 2006, taking responsibility for the design and implementation of the operator’s HFC, optical and IP infrastructure as well as digital video services, having previously worked for Liberty Global as senior vice-president, design and architecture.
Hellemink has served as vice-president of network engineering at Kabel Deutschland since 2006, having previously also worked for Liberty Global as director of network design and architecture.
