Numericable’s Denoyer likely to be post-acquisition SFR chief
Eric Denoyer, the current CEO of French cable operator Numericable, will take over as chief executive of the combined entity after his company’s takeover of larger telecom rival SFR, according to a report in financial daily Les Echos.
According to the paper, Patrick Drahi, the majority owner of Numericable through his Altice investment vehicle, will become president of the enlarged group, with Denoyer, a long-time associate, taking on the role of CEO.
Les Echos also reports that Jean-Yves Charlier, the current CEO of SFR, will remain with the group as advisor to Drahi, charged with supervising the integration of the two groups and working on Altice’s international investments. Altice has ivestments in France’s overseas territories and also in Israel, Belgium and Portugal, where it was recently reported that Altice was in talks to acquire Portugal Telecom.
