Sky Deutschland takes exclusive Formula E rights
Sky Deutschland has secured exclusive German broadcasting rights for Formula E racing and is due to air all races live from the new FIA fully-electric racing series.
The agreement covers TV rights, along with internet, IPTV, and mobile broadcast rights for Formula E – the electronic car equivalent of Formula 1.
Formula E races, or ePrix, will take place on Saturdays, with Sky Deutschland’s live broadcasts to include half an hour of pre-coverage and 15 minutes of post-race analysis.
The first race in the inaugural 2014/15 Formula E season will take place in Beijing on 13 September. In total there will be 10 races in the Formula E season, all held on street circuits.
The news comes just weeks after pay TV operator Canal+ secured the French rights to Formula E, agreeing to televise live races for distribution in France, Andorra and Monaco.
