Trace Sport Stars signs Nigerian DTH deal
Trace Sport Stars has extended its African footprint after signing a carriage deal with new Lagos, Nigeria-based DTH service provider Montage Cable Television.
The deal marks the third operator agreement Trace has agreed for the sports lifestyle channel in Africa, after previously striking deals with DStv and Canalsat Afrique.
“We have managed to capture the growth of emerging markets, particularly in Africa where the Trace brand is deemed number 1 in many countries. Africa remains a priority for Trace, as the continent grows we want to grow with it hence the importance of further distribution,” said Trace Sport Stars CEO Laurent Dumeau.
Montage Cable Network, launched in Nigeria on April 1 of this year and is a privately owned digital satellite TV company. The firm currently offers a single tier platform with plans to expand this in the “near future”.
Trace Sport Stars will join Montage’s EPG at channel number 302. The channel is now available in a total of more than 100 countries.
