Sunrise appoints 20th Century Fox exec as commercial chief

Swiss service provider Sunrise has appointed former 20^th Century Fox executive Markus Naef as its new chief commercial officer, business.

Naef, who became country manager of 20th Century Fox Switzerland in 2009 and has also managed the US film studio’s Russian operations since 2012, takes up his new role at Sunrise on September 1. He will report directly to Sunrise CEO, Libor Voncina.

With the appointment, Hans Jörg Denzler, who has been Sunrise’s director of business since October 2012, becomes chief business development officer.

In its last earnings report, Sunrise said that its TV subscriber base grew by 32,800 people, or 65.5% year-on-year, in Q1 2014, with 8,500 of those new customers.

The firm said that with Naef’s appointment, Sunrise will increase its focus on business development and exploiting the potential of the market.
