Kabel Deutschland sees strong broadband and premium TV growth

Vodafone-owned German cable operator Kabel Deutschland saw strong growth in both broadband and premium TV subscribers in the year to June.

The operator had 15.1 million revenue generating units sold at the end of June, up 4.8% year-on-year. Internet and phone subscriptions were up by 664,000 year on year to 4.5 million, while premium TV subscriptions including pay TV and DVR services grew by 278,000 in the year to June to reach 2.4 million. Growth during the quarter amounted to 74,000 subscriptions.

Kabel Deutschland posted quarterly revenues of €491 million, up 5.8% year-on-year. ARPU grew by 6.9% to €17.86, with customers taking an average of 1.81 products each, up from 1.71 in 2013.

Adjusted EBITDA was up 4.1% to €226 million.
