Amazon adds raft of kids series to streaming service
Amazon has acquired a slew of kids series for its streaming service in the UK including preschool hit Peppa Pig.
Amazon has invested in several original kids shows for its Prime Instant Video services and the acquired content will sit alongside. It has picked up new episodes of Peppa Pig and 64 Zoo Lane, Yo Gabba Gabba, In The Night Garden as well as classic series The Adventures of Paddington Bear, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Rolie Polie Olie.
The streaming service cut deals with a variety of distributors to secure the numerous kids shows including Entertainment One, DHX, Millimages, Nelvana and Saban.
Other titles bought include Digimon, Beyblade and Dennis the Menace, Mona the Vampire, Donkey Kong Country, Sonic The Hedgehog and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Amazon said it had taken exclusive UK streaming rights to several of the shows including Peppa Pig, 64 Zoo Lane and Digimon.
“Ahead of the summer holiday we’re pleased to be able to offer such a wide variety of premium children’s content to our members,” said Chris Bird, director of content strategy at Amazon Instant Video EU.
