CNN International names regional sales chief

News broadcaster CNN International has named Antonio Canto as vice-president, regional sales.

Canto, who will work under chief commercial officer Rani Raad, will be charged with building CNN’s business in southern, central and eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Turkey and the CIS.

Canto replaces Reme Al-Saiegh, who is leaving the company after taking maternity leave. He previously worked in commercial roles at Viacom International Media Networks.

“Antonio’s wealth of experience will be a huge asset to CNN as we look to continue exponential growth across these key markets,” said Raad.

“His expertise in business strategy, revenue growth and developing strategic relationships will help build on the successful commercial operations that CNN has already fostered in these regions.
