Spain tops 400,000 TiVo customers

Spanish cable operator ONO has passed the 400,000 TiVo customer mark, with users of the DVR service now accounting for more than half of its TV subscribers. 

ONO said that is rounded off May with 407,000 TiVo customers and that the service maintains “significant growth,” adding users every month.

ONO’s TiVo service offers customers 120 linear channels, 43 of them in HD, along with a 500GB hard disc capacity and access to a movie rental service. The firm said that in a recent survey, more than 90% of ONO TiVo users said they were very pleased with the quality service.

In its last quarterly earnings announcement, ONO said that for the three months to the end of March it had 382,000 TiVo customers, representing 49% of its TV base.
