BBC Sport launches on Roku in the UK

The BBC has launched a BBC Sport app for Roku connected TV devices in the UK, offering sports news, highlights and live action in time for this summer’s football World Cup. 

Roku said that the app is available for free to viewers in the UK using current-generation Roku players, including the newly launched Roku Streaming Stick.

BBC Sport on Roku will provide live coverage of the 31 World Cup matches that the BBC will air, as well as football news, analysis, match stats and live scores.

Users can also filter content by sport, accessing hundreds of non-football video clips.

“We are pleased to bring more sporting programmes to our UK customers. This new addition brings a wide range of content for sports fans, including must-see sports events that can be watched live or on catch-up,” said Ed Lee, vice president of content acquisition at Roku.
