Arris launches new fibre solutions

Arris has released a range of new solutions designed to help global providers meet the growing need for delivering fibre deeper into networks at ANGA COM this year.

Its new solutions include: the Arris Ultra Compact 200 Optical Node and Amplifier series; the Arris Opti Max OM2741 fiber deep optical node solution; the Arris CHP CORWave 3, a high density 1.2 GHz analogue digital multi-wavelength optical transmitter; and the Arris CHP Quad Return Path Receiver.

Arris says the solutions are designed to meet the challenges of expanding capacity and bandwidth while reducing costs, space, power requirements and operational complexity.

“As service providers work towards expanding subscriber offerings and capacity while strictly managing costs, Arris brings a broad set of high density and highly efficient fibre deep product options to support extended HFC, RFoG, PON along with other solutions,” said John Caezza, president of Arris Access Networks.

At the same time, Arris also unveiled five new CPE solutions aimed at European cable operators, which it said are designed to address consumer demand for quick and reliable content access on a variety of devices.

For “superior wireless performance,” it released the Touchstone TG2492 EuroDOCSIS 3.0 wireless EMTA, and the Touchstone DG6800 EuroDOCSIS 3.0 wireless data gateway.

For the shift to video digitisation it has released: the HMC4120 hybrid DVB-C/IP set-top; the HMC3000 which is designed to let cable operators deliver HD content and migrate subscribers to all digital and IP-based services; and the HMC2010, a digital terminal adapter.
