Romania’s RCS & RDS deploys Appear TV in infrastructure upgrade

Romanian cable operator RCS & RDS has selected Appear TV’s head-ends for a major upgrade to its cable TV infrastructure.

The firm said it will deploy 38 Appear TV XC5000 series video processing platforms for downlinking and distributing analogue RF and digital channels across its network in Hungary and Romania.

RCS & RDS said that Appear TV’s video processing platform would maximise core network efficiency and make it easy to efficiently carry out a staged digital migration and extend digital services to even more customers.

System integrator and Appear TV Romanian business partner, Romtek Electronics, will deliver the project.
