Multimedia Polska RGU increase fails to boost revenues
Polish cable operator Multimedia Polska added 23,500 revenue-generating units in the quarter to March but saw revenues flatten.
The operator had a total of 1.56 million RGUs at the end of March, boosted by broadband additions. Broadband subs wer 3.8% year-on-year to 513,000.
Revenues amounted to PLN175.7 million (€41.9 million) for the quarter, 0.7% down year-on-year and 0.1% up on the last quarter of 2013. Adjusted EBITDA was PLN91.4 million, up 0.3% year-on-year.
Multimedia Polska saw revenues from TV decrease slightly as analogue-to-digital conversion took its toll.
Revenues fell by 0.5% year-on-year to PLN86.8 million. The company stopped reporting customers who took both analogue and digital TV services as two RGUs during the quarter. The group had 681,000 TV customers at the end of March, including 339,000 digital customers. It had 77,000 premium TV customers at the same date.
Overall, Multimedia Polska had 827,500 customers at the end of March, including 298,400 that were dual play play customers and 128,500 that were triple-play subscribers. Multi-play growth was boosted by the company’s launch of a mobile offering at the end of last year.
