ADB powers O2 Czech Republic IPTV upgrade

Set-top and gateway provider ADB has completed managing the software migration of O2 Czech Republic’s IPTV service.

ADB was brought in to provide software and systems integration services to help O2 migrate its more than 130,000 IPTV subscribers from Alcatel-Lucent’s MiViewTV middleware to the Nangu.tv platform.

Software migration started in in September last year and was completed at the end of March. By the end of 2013, the new platform had already contributed to a 10% year-on-year increase in new O2 TV subscriptions, said ADB.

“Although we had traditionally thought of ADB as a hardware provider, over recent years we have come to recognise ADB’s impressive software, services and systems integration expertise. ADB’s team not only had the skills to make this a smooth transition for our subscribers but also delivered creative ideas and value-added services that made the entire process very cost-effective,” said David Duron, consumer services marketing director at O2.
