Sky Deutschland opens up online viewing for all
Sky Deutschland is expanding its Sky Go over-the-top (OTT) pay TV service, making it available to all Sky subscribers at no extra cost.
With the move, Sky said that all customers, starting from subscribers of its Sky Welt or Sky Starter packages, will be able to get “even more value from their subscription.”
Users can access Sky Go online, via an app for Apple iOS devices and through the Xbox 360 games console. Viewers can access the same content that they pay for on TV through the service by entering their customer number and Sky PIN.
“Sky Go offers more than standard online SVoD services. With around 70 million Sky Go customer sessions in 2013, we have doubled that of the previous year. The numbers show how popular Germany’s and Austria’s best online television is. This is why we’ve decided to activate Sky Go for all Sky customers as the perfect complement to their Sky subscription,” said Euan Smith, executive vice president, product and operations at Sky Deutschland.
Smith added that later in the year, Sky Deutschland will be “completely redesigning the Sky Go service” and adding a number of additional functions.
