Arris boosted by Motorola takeover

Video and broadband technology company Arris reported a rise in revenue and profits after reporting “remarkable progress in 2013” since its takeover of Motorola Home.

“As a result of our successful acquisition and integration of Motorola Home, we are a larger, stronger and much more relevant supplier to a growing worldwide customer community.  Moreover, 2014 is looking to be our best year ever,” said Arris chairman and CEO Bob Stanzione.

Fourth quarter revenues were US$1.199 billion (€875 million), up 12% sequentially and more than triple the US$334 million it reported in the same quarter last year.

Adjusted Q4 net income was US$77.6 million, compared to US$32.2 million a year earlier. However, Arris’ net loss was US$2.8 million in the quarter, compared to net income of US$14.8 million in Q4 2012.
