Stofa hires new agencies following takeover of Waoo! subs
Danish cable operator Stofa has hired marketing agencies OMD and Gekko to help with a strategic repositioning of its customer offerings.
Along with branding and marketing agency Kunde & Co, OMD and Gekko will help Stofa establish greater visibility in the Danish market, according to the company.
OMD replaces previous marketing agency partner Carat, while Gekko will handle Stofa’s relationship marketing.
Stofa is currently in the process of acquiring 65,000 fibre customers from Waoo!, a network operator part-owned by energy company Syd Energi, which took over Stofa in November 2012.
In November Syd Energi decided to withdraw its customers who took Waoo!’s broadband and TV offering and transfer them to Stofa, with the intention of terminating its interest in Waoo! in April. The move followed Syd Energi’s failure to persuade Waoo!’s other partners to agree to the integration of Waoo! with Stofa.
Waoo! last year became the first Danish operator to offer Netflix’s service to its customers.
