DNA begins airing HD versions of Yle channels

Finnish telecom and TV operator DNA is to begin broadcasting HD versions of public channels Yle TV1 and TV2 on its cable and digital-terrestrial networks.

The channels will be made available free of charge and without encryption.

DNA ‘s cable network covers a total of about 600 000 homes in the metropolitan area of Oulu , Lahti , Kuopio, Turku, Pori, Rauma and Lohja, while its digital-terrestrial network reaches about 85% of Finnish households.
