UPC expands Discovery offering
Irish pay TV operator UPC has added three more Discovery Networks-owned channels to its TV offering.
Discovery Shed, Discovery Turbo and Quest go live on the UPC Ireland platform today on slots number 154, 155 and 156 of the EPG.
UPC Ireland said it will now broadcast all 11 of Discovery Networks’ channel brands in the country, including Discovery Channel, TLC, ID, Animal Planet, Discovery Science and Discovery History.
“We’re delighted that we can strengthen our package of non-fiction channels. Viewers of Discovery have an insatiable curiosity to find out new things. The addition of these three great new channels will provide a window into interesting subjects and industries and will no doubt prove very popular with Irish audiences,” said UPC Ireland content delivery manager Shane Loughrey Grant.
The Discovery Shed channel is dedicated to shows about fishing, DIY, cars, bikes and the outdoors. Discovery Turbo is for “those that love machines,” while Quest is an entertainment channel that airs programmes like factual series Salvage Hunters.
